He has extensive experience in economic valuation and Solvency II, IFRS 17, Asset and Liability Management (ALM), actuarial function, product development, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Economic Valuation and Solvency II
Javier has extensive experience in economic valuation of insurance companies under Embedded Value (using both TEV and MCEV methodologies) and Solvency II principles. He has been responsible for the implementation of Embedded Value and Solvency II reporting and models.
IFRS 17
Javier has significant experience in IFRS 17, which he gained through the implementation of one of the primary Spanish insurance groups. He also conducted implementation for another medium-sized company within the Spanish market. Javier is currently working on the practical implementation of IFRS 17 for a couple of clients in the Portuguese market.
Actuarial Function
Javier was responsible for the actuarial function for one of the main Spanish insurance groups, reviewing and providing opinion regarding technical provisions and SCR, reinsurance policy, data quality, and underwriting policy.
Product Development
As part of his experience in the industry, Javier has worked in product design, pricing, feasibility studies, and business plans for protection, savings, and pension businesses.
Asset and Liability Management
Javier has signficant experience in assets and liabilities reporting, as well as in the implementation of Prophet's ALM models.
Mergers and Acquisitions
During his career, Javier has been involved in several M&A processes for the Spanish market.
